Depart early for Murchison Falls National Park. En route, make a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, a cornerstone of Uganda’s white rhinoceros reintroduction program. Here, embark on a unique guided rhino tracking experience on foot alongside experienced rangers. Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is the only place in Uganda where you will find this member of the African Big 5. The rhino are powerful majestic animals. Proceed later for lunch and onto to your accommodation in Murchison Falls National Park.

Murchison Falls National Park is the largest park in Uganda. It is home to a wide variety of wildlife, thus giving amazing game viewing drives. Start off early so you can catch the animals at their morning meal. You may even get the chance to find hunting or feeding lions. Look out for elephants, giraffes, jackson’s hartebeest, cape buffalos, and if you are lucky, leopards. Leopards are shy predators and keep out of sight as much as they can. In the afternoon continue your safari on the Nile River to the mighty Murchison falls. You will leave the boat not farm from the bottom of the falls so you can hike up to the top of the falls. This section of the park has no wild animals so it is safe to hike.

After breakfast you travel south on to Kibale National Park. The drive will take you through beautiful beautiful landscapes along the edge of the Great Western Rift Valley and Lake Albert. You will go past the foothills of the Rwenzori mountains, Africa’s highest mountain range and on to your accommodation just outside the Kibale National Park. 

Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale National Park is one of Uganda’s most thrilling wildlife experiences. Known as the “Primate Capital of the World,” Kibale is home to around 1,500 chimpanzees, offering visitors a unique opportunity to observe these fascinating primates in their natural habitat. In the afternoon after take another excursion to the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, located near Kibale National Park in Uganda, is a vibrant eco-tourism destination known for its rich biodiversity and community-driven conservation efforts.

This lush wetland sanctuary is home to over 200 bird species, including the Great Blue Turaco, and a variety of primates such as red colobus monkeys and black-and-white colobus monkeys. After a leisurely breakfast travel further south to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive will take you through Kasese on the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains. For many of the climbers of Rwenzori, Kasese is the starting point. Cross the equator just before you get to the Queen Elizabeth National Park, and check into your accommodation. Depending on your time you could simply relax or spend the time exploring the crater and salt lakes here.

Queen Elizabeth National Park is a breathtaking wildlife sanctuary renowned for its diverse ecosystems, the park offers a unique blend of savanna, wetlands, and forested areas, providing a home for a wide range of wildlife. Visitors can spot iconic African Big 5 wildlife animals like lions, elephants, leopards, and buffalos, as well as a variety of primates, including chimpanzees and baboons. A game drive and boat safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park offer an unforgettable wildlife adventure in one of Uganda’s most iconic parks. The game drives, typically conducted in the early morning or late afternoon, take visitors through the park’s diverse landscapes, from savannah plains to lush wetlands, in search of wildlife like elephants, lions, buffalo, antelope, and the over 600 bird species in this park.

In the afternoon, you will go for the boat safari along the Kazinga Channel provides a unique vantage point to observe a variety of animals that gather at the water’s edge, including hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and an array of birdlife like African fish eagles and pelicans. Today transfer to Bwindi through the southern sector of national park. Look out for tree climbing lions on your way as you go through the Ishasha sector. This is only one of two places in the world where you will find lions spending more time in the huge trees, than on the ground. And that is what makes them special – the tree climbing lions. Later in the afternoon you will be in Bwindi near the national park. Spend the even listening to the sounds of the forest you will be visiting the next day. 

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its dense rainforest and remarkable biodiversity. This park is home to half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas, making it a must-visit destination for wildlife enthusiasts. Visitors to the park can enjoy gorilla trekking adventures where they encounter these majestic creatures in their natural habitat. Bwindi also boasts a diverse range of other wildlife, including chimpanzees, colobus monkeys, and over 350 bird species. With its lush vegetation, breathtaking scenery, and unique wildlife encounters, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park offers an unforgettable Uganda safari experience.

Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, offering the rare chance to encounter endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat.
