Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Uganda!

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport and be warmly received by a Nandi Adventures representative. Transfer to a comfortable hotel near Entebbe for relaxation and an overnight stay. In the evening, enjoy a briefing on your Ugandan adventure and discuss any specific interests you might have.

Day 2: Rhinos Tracking & Murchison Falls National Park

Depart early for Murchison Falls National Park. En route, make a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, a cornerstone of Uganda's white rhinoceros reintroduction program. Here, embark on a unique guided rhino tracking experience on foot alongside experienced rangers. This intimate encounter allows you to learn about these magnificent creatures firsthand and gain a deeper understanding of crucial conservation efforts.

Continuing your journey, arrive at Murchison Falls National Park in the late afternoon. As evening descends, proceed to your exclusive private bush camp nestled in the park's northern sector. Savor a breathtaking sunset with a refreshing sundowner drink, marking the perfect prelude to your safari. Nyamsika Camp offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the wilderness, surrounded by untouched beauty and devoid of other tourist presence. Here, you'll have the exclusive privilege of exploring the area on foot, creating an unforgettable and personalized safari experience.

Day 3: Discover Murchison on a Safari Walk like the Original Explorers

Wake up to an early breakfast accompanied by the sounds of Murchison Falls National Park's wilderness. Take on a morning safari walk towards Te Okot, lasting 2.5 to 3.5 hours. The terrain is mostly open and slightly hilly, with some gullies and Borassus Palms, which are a primary food source for elephants—one of Africa's Big 5. There is a good chance of seeing herds of elephants and various antelopes, especially during the dry season. Enjoy an early lunch around noon, followed by a siesta to relax and immerse yourself in the wilderness. In the afternoon, take a game drive or a shorter walk from 4 to 5 pm, lasting about an hour.

Day 4: Explore the Murchison Wilderness and a Boat Ride to the Falls

After an early breakfast, embark on a long morning walk to the River Nile, lasting 4 to 5 hours. Sandals are recommended for wading through shallow, warm water. The walk will take you along the Nyamsika riverbed that feeds into the Nile River, frequented by a variety of wildlife, including waterbuck, buffaloes, kobs, hartebeest, elephants, and occasionally hyenas. You'll have the opportunity to observe numerous footprints along the way. At the end of the walk, a boat will be waiting to take us on a 2-hour ride to the bottom of Murchison Falls and back. Enjoy a packed lunch on the boat. In the late afternoon, return to the camp for relaxation.

Day 5: Bush breakfast; Transfer to Kibale

On your final day in Murchison Falls National Park, begin with a spectacular morning walk along the Nyamsika riverbed, culminating in a bush breakfast. Following breakfast, depart Murchison Falls National Park and head towards Kibale National Park. You may choose to visit the top of Murchison Falls on your way out. Continue your journey south, enjoying the scenic drive along the Great Western Rift Valley and Lake Albert. Arrive at your lodge near Kibale National Park later in the day for check-in and relaxation.

Day 6: Go Tracking Chimpanzees in Kibale

Today, embark on an exciting chimpanzee tracking adventure in Kibale National Park, affectionately known as the "Primate Capital" for its remarkable diversity. The park is home to 13 primate species, including chimpanzees. Experienced trackers will guide you through the rainforest in search of a habituated chimpanzee family. Witnessing these intelligent primates swinging through the trees will undoubtedly be a highlight of your trip. Keep an eye out for other primates, such as the red colobus monkey and the rare L'Hoest's monkey, and listen for the songs of some of the 370 bird species in the area.

In the afternoon, immerse yourself in the local culture with a visit to a homestead near Kibale National Park. Participate in traditional activities and learn about the local way of life from the residents.

Day 7: Transfer to the Mountain Gorilla Paradise of Bwindi

Early today you will leave Kibale and head to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to about half of the world's remaining mountain gorillas. The road transfer from Kibale National Park to Bwindi offers travelers a captivating journey through the diverse landscapes of western Uganda. Departing from the lush forests of Kibale, renowned for its chimpanzee populations, the route winds through verdant tea plantations and picturesque villages. As the journey progresses southwards, the terrain becomes more rugged, eventually leading into the mist-shrouded hills of Bwindi. This scenic drive not only showcases Uganda's natural beauty but also provides opportunities to glimpse local life and culture along the way. It's a memorable expedition that sets the stage for encountering endangered mountain gorillas in their forested sanctuary.

Day 8: Unforgettable Encounters as You Come Face-to-Face with the Mountain Gorillas

Today is the day! Encountering a family of mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is an unforgettable moment that resonates with awe and humility. As you trek through dense, ancient forests with wildlife rangers, anticipation builds until the moment you find yourself face-to-face with these gentle giants. Their immense presence, peaceful demeanor, and intricate social interactions leave a profound impression.
