Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Uganda!

Welcome to Uganda, the Pearl of Africa. Our guide from Nandi Adventures shall meet you at the airport. After pre-trip briefing, you will begin your safari adventure in Uganda. Depending on your time of arrival, you could go for a walk in the botanical gardens on the shores of Lake Victoria. You are sure to see some primates in that call this garden home. Alternatively, you could visit the malls to stock up on supplies like batteries.

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale National Park

Transfer to Kibale National Park in the west of Uganda. You will stop over for lunch in Fort Portal the city that sits on the foothills of Africa's longest mountain range, the Rwenzori Mountains. After lunch, proceed to your accommodation on the edge of the Kibale National Park.

In the afternoon, take a nature walk in the Bigodi Wetland which is a sanctuary for colourful birds, and monkeys. The wetland sanctuary found next to the national park is a preview of what to expect when you go trekking in the park. Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary is a community-run initiative that offers guided walks through a swamp area. It's an excellent opportunity for birdwatching and observing other wildlife, including primates and butterflies.

Day 3: Go Tracking Chimpanzees; then transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Kibale National Park offers a unique and immersive experience for nature enthusiasts, providing a glimpse into the fascinating world of primates and tropical rainforests in the heart of Africa - in Uganda.

The park is most famous for the high concentration of chimpanzees. Your expert guide will share the secrets of the chimps, the forest dwellers, and the sights and sounds that make Kibale one of the loveliest and most varied parks in Uganda. You'll also look out for other primates such as L’Hoest’s, red Colobus, red-tailed and blue monkeys.

After lunch, drive farther south crossing the equator into the southern hemisphere and the Queen Elizabeth National Park. Spend the afternoon on a safari cruise on the Kazing Channel. This is a wonderful water safari that brings you close to the wildlife and diverse bird species.

Day 4: Wildlife Game Drive then Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Explore the diverse wildlife and stunning landscapes of Queen Elizabeth National Park through thrilling game drives. Witness majestic creatures in their natural habitats as you traverse through the savannah, forests, and wetlands of this renowned park. Keep your eyes peeled for iconic African wildlife such as lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and a variety of antelope species. Today you head into Uganda's highland rainforests to track gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Bwindi is an ancient rainforest that protects about half of the world's population of mountain gorillas. As you venture through the park's dense, mist-covered forest, expert guides lead you on a thrilling journey to encounter these majestic creatures in their natural habitat.
